Anatomic Excellence In Our MD Program

Anatomy In Action

Active learning and visualization techniques are highly effective for mastering anatomy. Rather than simply reading textbooks or lecture notes, it is important to actively interact with the material, utilizing visual aids like anatomical models, diagrams, and interactive technology to enhance your understanding.

Plastination offers invaluable benefits to medical students by providing them with a unique and detailed insight into the intricacies of human anatomy. Unlike traditional cadaver dissections, plastinated specimens maintain their anatomical structure, allowing students to study anatomical relationships, variations, and pathological conditions with unparalleled clarity and precision. This innovative approach not only facilitates a deeper understanding of human anatomy but also fosters a more interactive and hands-on learning experience, ultimately better preparing medical students for clinical practice and surgical procedures.

In addition to our platinated body parts, students are also able to gain a deeper understanding of anatomy with our state-of-the-art Anatomage Table. The Anatomage Table is the only fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system. Users can visualize anatomy exactly as they would on a fresh cadaver. Individual structures are reconstructed in accurate 3D, resulting in an unprecedented level of real accurate anatomy, dissectible in 3D.

MD PROGRAM CLINICAL SCIENCES

About Our Clinical Sciences Program

Trinity’s clinical sciences program, which encompasses Terms 5 through 10, provides students with an immersion into clinical medicine in both hospital and physician practice settings. This portion of students’ clinical education is provided in partnership with the Houston Healthcare system in central Georgia and partnering hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland. HHC facilities include two fully accredited acute care medical facilities, Houston Medical Center and Perry Hospital, as well as the Houston Healthcare Pavilion in Warner Robins, Georgia. The Houston Healthcare Pavilion is where the HHC residency program resides. Here, Trinity students preparing for and engaged in clerkships benefit from a dedicated learning center, complete with individual and group study spaces. Trinity’s clerkship program has expanded to include rotation options in Baltimore, Maryland. Students now have the flexibility to undertake all or part of their clinical rotations in Baltimore. Students interested in Surgery and/or Internal Medicine residencies may choose to rotate through our hospital partner that has those residency programs.

Our 4-Year MD Program Requirements and Application Process

Our application process ensures that every candidate is considered thoughtfully and holistically. From prerequisite academic requirements to a timeline designed for your convenience, we are committed to guiding you through every step.

As previously mentioned, applicants must have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution. Essential prerequisite courses include Biology, General/Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. These courses should be completed no more than 10 years prior to the application date.

For U.S. applicants, MCAT scores are mandatory, while they are strongly encouraged for all other applicants. The scores must be from exams taken within the last 10 years. The MCAT score is a factor in the admissions process but is considered alongside other qualifications.

Candidates must submit a completed Application for Admission, an application fee, and Letters of Recommendation. Additionally, transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended are required. If college credits were earned at foreign institutions or in a language other than English, official foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an approved service.

The admission process is ongoing throughout the year to accommodate three start dates—January, May, and September. Trinity School of Medicine provides orientation sessions for the application process, including essay reviews and practice interviews.

Trinity School of Medicine employs a holistic approach to evaluate candidates. This method considers not only academic achievements and MCAT scores but also the individual’s experiences in human service internships, volunteer work, exposure to healthcare settings, and the ability to articulate motivations for pursuing a career in medicine.
