Applicants must be transferring from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school or an international school listed with the World Directory of Medical Schools and have earned their credits within the time frame that the ECFMG has provided as eligible to apply for certification (see Sponsor Notes section of the medical school on the WDMS website). If your medical school is in a country that has adopted CAAM-HP as the accrediting body, the school must have CAAM-HP accreditation.
Applicants may not have been out of school for more than one year at the time of application (documented medical leave-of-absence may waive this requirement).
Applicants who have previously transferred medical schools will not be eligible to transfer. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Students wishing to transfer during the clinical science terms must have passed the USMLE Step 1 exam on their first attempt and exam score thresholds may apply.
Credits will not be given for any core or elective clerkships or rotations completed while enrolled in another medical school.
Per current ECFMG rule, a student may only transfer once during medical school or lose credits from first school.
Transfer students must submit a complete application along with their transcripts from their current or previous medical school, along with their undergraduate /graduate transcripts, letters of recommendation and a Deans letter.
Applications will not be reviewed prior to the receipt of all documents.
All Term 6 transfers must be prepared to submit background checks, certifications, visas and all other documents as required by Trinity School of Medicine and the hospitals where they will be working a minimum of one month prior to beginning clerkships.
All incoming transfer students must be aware of and be willing to comply with and sign off on all Trinity School of Medicine health requirements and deadlines as outlined in the catalog and student handbook.
