Shilpa Karkera, MSc, PhD

Associate Professor | Department of Anatomical Sciences

Dr. Karkera is an Associate professor of Neuroscience and Anatomy and the Course director of Neuroscience, Anatomy, Cell and molecular Biology at Trinity school of medicine. She is currently perceiving Master in Medical Education and Research from Dundee School of Medicine, University of Dundee Scotland.

In this role, she has worked with medical students individually and in small groups to provide the kinds of learning tools and strategies that can help them reach their maximum potential. She has also facilitated several large group workshops for students focusing on developing the cognitive and metacognitive skills required for success in medical school.

Dr. K has made over 30 scholarly contributions, nearly 28 peer-reviewed research papers. Current research in Dr. K`s account is on “A Study on Neuronal Tube Defects (NTD) in St Vincent and Grenadines: Incidence and Risk Factors’. She has mentored many graduate and post graduate students during her career.
